Connection Groups are small groups of people that meet together around a common interest or need. They provide a way for building relationships with others and reflecting a leader’s God-given passion to attract like-minded people to themselves and ultimately to God. Their purpose is to help people move closer to God and deepen their faith and trust in Him, which is the heart of Mukilteo Foursquare Church. Connection Groups provide the practical context for fulfilling our purpose as a church, which is to help people discover God and rise to their full potential in Christ. Jesus said, “For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them.” (Matthew 18:20). This is where real community can take place, including laughing and having fun together, sharing each others’ concerns, praying for one another, etc. Groups typically meet based on a semester schedule: At the end of each semester, you may choose to continue in a group or move to another group based on your current desire or need.
Connection Groups are the primary vehicle for accomplishing all that God desires to do in us and through us – to love one another, to learn about God, to worship Him, to serve others, and to share Christ’s love with the world. Best of all, Connection Groups help us grow closer to one another as we do all these things together.
Two Types of Connection Groups:
Common Interest Groups: These are groups where people get together who share a common interest
Training Groups: These are groups that have a special equipping focus
Our hope for you as a part of our church family is that you will find fulfillment in deepening your relationship with God and with new friends. We encourage you to start this journey by joining a Connection Group and staying committed to it for a trial period.
